We have been advised by the City of Onkaparinga that major roadworks are scheduled to commence just after Easter.
The roadworks, affecting Farnsworth Drive at the rear of the College, will impact the normal operation of the College for a period of 4-6 weeks.
From the start of Term 2, traffic will be unable to exit from the rear car park, adjacent to the Gymnasium, out onto Farnsworth Drive.
This means that, during this period, all traffic entering the rear car park must turn and exit back through the gates they entered, at the side of the College.
As a result, the College has been forced to take remedial action to minimise the risk of accident or injury to students, staff or visitors.
Therefore, from the start of Term 2, morning access to the rear car park will only be for staff and students, holding valid passes. A security guard will be positioned at the side gate to ensure that this rule is adhered to.
In the afternoons the gates will be locked at 2:30 pm to ensure that no visitors attempt to enter the car park near the end of the day.
For this reason, any person parked in the affected car park will be unable to exit the campus until the gates are re-opened at approximately 3:30 pm. This delay is to ensure that the anticipated volume of traffic, outside of the side perimeter gate has dissipated to allow safe passage.
Of course, any student or member of staff who has parked in the rear car park during the day, will be unable to exit the College between 2:30 pm and 3:30 pm.
Parents will be unable to access the rear car park, at any time, to either drop off or pick up students while these restrictions are in operation.
We apologise for the inconvenience, but ask all members of our community to exercise patience and good grace during what may potentially become a stressful period.
