Enrichment Week

29 June 2023

This week, students have participated in lots of activities on and off campus and each Year Level focusing on a different Guiding Principle.

Our Year 7 students are using ‘Creativity’ to come up with their own game and were introduced to the Sock Game today for some inspiration. After deciding on a theme, name and instructions they got to work on the game’s physical attributes – with lots of cutting, painting, gluing and creative construction. We are looking forward to learning how to play their newly created games!

Our Year 8s were ‘Future Focused’ and visited Glenthorne National Park-Ityamaiitpinna Yarta, where they had the opportunity to learn in, with and through nature. They explored the Aboriginal and European history of the park, reflecting upon human impact and learning about the unique flora and fauna that call the park home.

Our Year 9 students are dedicating the week to ‘Community’, with activities focused on indigenous perspectives. They are also attending a First Aid course in preparation for Quest and taking part in The Forktree Project, planting trees and learning about the positive impact they can make on our environment.

Our Year 10 students are using ‘Agency’ with a variety of opportunities, including Work Experience, Future Leaders Camp, Melbourne Netball trip, Service Learning and Future Anything workshops. Some students visited Foodbank SA & Central Australia where they sorted and packed food for those in need, the Reynella Neighbourhood Centre where they helped with the design and redevelopment of their front garden, and Vintners Walk Butterfly Garden, where they weeded, mulched and planted.

Our Year 11 students are all about ‘Growth’ this week and will be attending their Year Level Camp at Mylor.
