As an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, Woodcroft College offers the Primary Years Program (PYP) in the Junior School and the Diploma (DP) in the Senior School. Senior School students may also choose the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) with its Vocational Education and Training (VET) pathway.
The International Baccalaureate Diploma will cease to be part of our program at the end of 2023. Students entering Year 11 in 2022 will be the last IB Diploma cohort at the College.
In 2020, the College developed a set of Guiding Principles to capture what we value about the College and which informs the direction of learning and teaching. The project involved investigating how we currently meet the learning needs of all students and ensuring that we continue to be a school of educational best practice.
The Guiding Principle Project Team was supported by AISSA Senior Education Consultant, Aleida Mabarrack, who led us through a process of rigorous
reflection and consultation with staff, students and the College community.
Our 5 principles reflect the values we already hold along with aspirational elements for the future of Woodcroft College.
The principles were launched with staff at the start of the year and are being introduced to students from the ELC to Year 12 through pastoral
care and subject lessons.
We are delighted to announce that our five principles are:
- Our community is built upon strong relationships, shared values and is shaped by our unique experiences.
- Our community enables us to grow and flourish together.
- We are the creators and evaluators of a shared learning journey.
We are imaginative, innovative and take risks with our learning.
- We are preparing for the future by developing capabilities and connecting learning to authentic real-world contexts.
You can read the full document on the principles here, which outlines the actions and behaviours which will ensure that these principles are embedded in our practice and culture.
These principles will be key to forming our new Middle School program which will launch in 2022.
