Junior School

Students and their parents eagerly visit our Junior School Library for a variety of reasons. They may be borrowing books to read for recreation, support their classroom reading program, find answers to questions, explore personal interests and borrow books written by their favourite authors. Students also spend time in the library using the resources to research into PYP Units of Inquiry.

Many students participate in the Premier’s Reading Challenge which is supported by our well-resourced library.

Students also enjoy visiting the library during their lunch break to read, research, play board games, do puzzles, make things and borrow and return books. Year 6 students also can become a library monitor and assist in making the library facilities available to students at lunch time.

The library has a Media Room and this provides another rich learning space.

We are very grateful for the support of library staff and volunteers in such a busy and vibrant part of our Junior School.

Middle and Senior School

At the Woodcroft College Middle and Senior School Library, we believe in the benefits of lifelong learning and are passionate about encouraging a love of reading and an interest in a wide range of literature.

Our library staff will guide and support students to become considerate and discerning lifelong learners.

Our library is a vibrant central learning hub, that is actively involved in the whole school community, celebrating and participating in College activities and curriculum learning.

We offer a significant and well-curated library of books, journals and digital resources. Our librarians work with teaching staff to ensure we can provide high quality materials to meet the needs of our curriculum. Our library team can help with resource queries, information literacy development or assist students in choosing a great read.

In addition to our school wide Wi-Fi for easy connection, students have access to a suite of desktop computers and an efficient printing hub in the library. Our specialist staff also have the skills and equipment to support staff and students in accessing and producing multi-media.

Students and parents will also have access to ‘Oliver’, the College’s library portal.
