At Woodcroft College, the Pastoral Care Program plays an integral role in the life of our students.

We recognise who we are teaching is as important as what we are teaching. We understand the important link between wellbeing and development and learning.

Each aspect of a student’s academic, spiritual, physical, emotional and social development is valued. We want our students to feel safe to explore their passions, make mistakes and grow into confident, capable and ethical young people.

Help and support is always on hand. Our staff share a pastoral responsibility to provide a nurturing environment and to know and appreciate each student as an individual.

Specific Year level structured personal development programs are delivered across Middle and Senior School.

School Counsellors

The College employs qualified counsellors to provide personal counselling and emotional wellbeing support to students in Middle and Senior School. Our Middle and Senior School Counsellors can be contacted at [email protected].

Our Middle and Senior School Counsellors are:
Mr Phil Cook
Ms Bec Thompson
Ms Georgia Murdock

The Junior School Counsellor is available on Wednesday and Friday each week. On the days when the Counsellor is not at the College, students are supported by the Deputy Head – Wellbeing (R-6) and Assistant Leader of Wellbeing (R-6). Our Junior School Counsellor, Kerrilee Beaumont can be contacted at [email protected].

House System

Students are assigned to one of four houses:

In the Junior School students gather in their houses to complete activities during lesson time (once a month) as well as compete against each other on Sports Day. Houses also compete against each other at the Middle and Senior School Swimming Carnival and Athletics Day. In addition Middle School students have a Points Day and Activity Day to earn their house points. Once a term during Pastoral Care, Middle School students undertake house activities as a year level.

RAVE

Closely aligned with our Pastoral Care Program is Religious and Values Education (RAVE) under the direction of the College Pastor.  We recognise faith as a personal experience and we are an inclusive community. Our RAVE lessons provide the space to explore spirituality, to understand living with purpose and to support the development of good character and values.
