OUR HISTORY

In September 1982, the Synod of the Anglican Diocese of Adelaide adopted a recommendation that the Anglican Church act to ensure that all parents who wanted a Christian education for their children should have that chance. This led to the idea of a new Anglican coeducational school in the growing region to the south of Adelaide.

On 15 February 1988, the Reverend Dean Barker was appointed Principal of Woodcroft Anglican High School.

From our humble origins and an initial enrolment of 71 students in 1989, today Woodcroft College is a thriving community of over 1,420 students, 980 families and 185 staff offering ELC to Year 12.

COLLEGE CREST AND IDENtity

Woodcroft College has a distinctive public identity.

This identity is underpinned by our Philosophy, and communicated via our Strategic Plan.

Each time we communicate with our audience, we have an opportunity to strengthen public awareness of our unique character and mission. The promise of academic excellence, a commitment to the Anglican traditions and many other distinct attributes of the College come alive in a real and meaningful way for people when they see our crest.

St Hilda of Whitby is the Patron Saint of the College and our colours of blue, gold and red are associated with our Patron Saint, with red being a seasonal colour of the church.

Our crest carries the College motto of “Persevera in Fide”, meaning persevere in faith.

Every interaction we have with a current, past or potential student, parent or staff member leaves an impression. Reinforcing our image or brand across all that we do helps to ensure these impressions have a positive impact.

Woodcroft College has distinctive visuals to convey our brand messaging, including:

  • our crest
  • our colours
  • our identity standards
