Students in Middle and Senior School are actively involved in the Social Justice Group.
In 2023, Woodcroft College is partnering with the following organisations:
Collective of St Mary Magdalene
Collective of St Mary Magdalene is a diverse group of people committed to exploring and working for social justice in Adelaide. Woodcroft College came on board as a volunteer in 2017 to become one of the vast groups of volunteer schools and businesses to provide meals and kitchen staff rostered for one or two Saturdays per year, helping the mission to provide an ‘Environment of Community and Acceptance’ for Adelaide’s homeless and disadvantaged. The Collective strives to follow the example of Jesus by identifying with the poor, the sick and the outcast, strengthening their spirits and self-esteem and confronting the long-term cycle of alienation that they suffer.
Compassion
Exciting news for 2023 with the College planning to sponsor a child through Compassion. As a loving caring global focus community who have our “arrows facing out”, we wish to live to give and see a need and fill a need in someone else’s life.
“For even the son of man came to serve not to be served.” – Mark 10:41-45
Tjindu Foundation
We are blessed to call Australia home, we take this opportunity to pay our respects to the first nations people and be of help with Aboriginal youth in modern life. The Tjindu Foundation creates positive, long-term change for Aboriginal children in communities across South Australia through cultural education and success in schooling that enables them to become future leaders.
Smith Family Literacy Program
Reading is the window to confidence with learning.
The Smith Family believe that education is one of the world’s most powerful change agents. That’s why we focus on helping young Australians to overcome educational inequality caused by poverty.
As a national, independent charity, every day we work with thousands of children and their families to help them unlock better futures for themselves.
