Three Woodcroft College students competed at the Australian Youth Volleyball Championships held in Bendigo last week – Ashlyn Ambler and Georgia Gaukroger (both Year 11) and Riley Brown (Year 9).

Well done to Ashlyn and Georgia who competed in the Under 17 Girls’ Division and finished in 5^th place.

Riley competed in the Under 15 Male Division and whilst the week did not get off to a great start, the team continued to fight hard, despite losing 5 out of the 7 games over the first three days. On the final two days of competition and with a spot in the finals on the line, they came up against the top ranked team. The team managed to beat both QLD and NSW in two straight sets giving them a spot in the finals playing for Gold. The boys gave it their all and came out on top, beating WA three sets to one!

Congratulations to Riley and his team for taking home the Gold meal and becoming the Under 15 Male National Championship Champions!
