HPAP student, Fraser Oertel (Year 11) has been crowned the Australian Champion in Cross Country Marathon Mountain Biking!
He was awarded this title after coming first at the National Championships for Cross Country Marathon Mountain Biking in Wagga Wagga.
This event was a two-lap race with a total distance of 60 kilometres. Fraser completed the two laps in a time of 2:36.00 with a 1-minute lead over second place with an attack on the main climb known as the ‘death wall’.
Winning this race mean that Fraser has the privilege of wearing the green and gold colours for the rest of the year in that discipline.
