Mia’s Sporting Success

12 March 2024

HPAP student, Mia Weston (Year 7) has recently had some great success in her chosen sports.

On Sunday 25 February, Mia participated in the South Australian Surf Lifesaving State Championships. Representing her club Glenelg, Mia won Gold in the 1.5km run, Division 1, 12-year-old age group.

During the March long weekend, she competed in the Long Course South Australian Swimming Championships. Mia swam in six races – made six finals, had six PB’s, won one Gold medal, two Silvers and one Bronze. She also swam four national age qualifying times to compete at the National level. Unfortunately she will have to wait until next year to compete at the National level. It was a huge weekend for Mia swimming in 12 races. What a fantastic achievement!

Well done to Natalie Beech (Year 12) who also competed and won a Gold medal.
