Strategic Plan

The College Council has committed to a Strategic Plan for 2017 - 2021.

In early 2017, Mr Mark Porter (Headmaster 1989 - 2017) launched the College’s Strategic Plan 2017 – 2021.

How was the Plan developed?

In 2016, the College Council convened a group of staff representatives to review the Strategic Plan 2012 – 2016.

All Council members and staff were involved in a joint Planning Day, while parent and student representatives were involved through focus groups.

The Statement of Philosophy

Traditionally, the school’s Strategic Plans have contained a Statement of Philosophy, vision and mission statements, and a series of strategic directions and priorities.

The Statement of Philosophy, now slightly reformatted, is almost as old as the school itself.

It’s about equipping students for the future.

It explains how the school seeks to address the intellectual, physical, emotional and spiritual needs of students through broad curriculum and co-curriculum programs, and through pastoral care.

And it’s about helping young people to grow to maturity with an outward rather than an inward focus.

Mission and Vision Statements

The vision and mission statements now appear as endnotes to the philosophy statement.

What do they mean?

Vibrant means alive to possibilities; innovative means receptive to change and willing to do different things or to do things differently if circumstances require it; and inclusive means catering for the wide range of students and their abilities.

Excellent means the best possible; all-round means that we value more than just an academic education; and Christian is basic to the school’s beliefs, values and practices.

Strategic Directions and Priorities

The remaining section of the Strategic Plan 2017 – 2021 is divided into four sections.

The Plan elaborates on each of them, emphasizing the student focus and how that can be articulated in C21; the professionalism and collegiality of the staff; the partnership with parents; and the sustainability of the school.

"The Strategic Plan 2017 - 2021 is important," Mr Porter (Headmaster 1989 - 2017) concluded at the launch. "Along with a number of other initiatives, it sets the school up well for the future."
